Can your heavy-duty electronic connectors take a pounding?

Heavy construction equipment operates in some of the toughest environments. Operating conditions include UV rays, wide swings in temperature and humidity, rain, caustic chemical and particulate ingress, continuous use demands, rugged terrain and, of course, constant pounding stress and vibration. High vibration is particularly challenging to construction equipment electronics, especially electrical connectors. During heavy-duty industrial applications, connectors can become loose or pull apart from the effects of continuous vibration. Even one particle of dust or drop of water or fluid into the electronic connection could shut down a rugged vehicle or critical equipment. And they must perform, often continuously, for many hours, days and months at a time. A strong, durable connection must be maintained, or the equipment shuts down. And downtime = lost production = lost profits.
